Track 16+ is a bonus track taken from a live concert performed at Rockin’ R Ranch (CA). It was cut from ALTER-NATION's classic, eclectic rock opera album "Change The System!" due to time constraint imposed by the maximum CD capacity in 1999.
"Liberty & Responsibility" is an ode performed by a southern singer-preacher on stage at a rowdy honky-tonk. The lyrics ask why so many of our “freedoms” supposedly guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution seem to have been taken away from the honest, hard-working citizens of this country. He is mad as hell, and challenges his audience to join him in the fight to take back our rights from the institutions who have stolen them from us.
For the involved characters, these libertarian themes seem, at first glance, to be antithetical to their generally liberal instincts. Upon reflection, they begin to realize that they have more in common with this band's messages than the ideologies within which they were formerly indoctrinated.
